Alastair Gibson left his role as chief mechanic for BAR Honda to pursue a new career as an artist. His unique carbon fibre sculptures which incorporate his two main passions; marine life and motor racing, and translate F1 technology into unique artistic form.
This luxury carbon fibre paperweight is part of Alastair’s Marine Life collection and is modelled on the Amazon River’s Red-bellied Piranha. Drawing parallels to Formula One, the Red-bellied Piranha is aggressive, streamlined; with its compressed body and long dorsal fins, and reached an incredible explosion of speed when hunting its prey.
The paperweight is constructed from a Honda F1 gear ratio as a base with a carbon fibre stem which holds the impressive Pirahna sculpture.
The fish body is made from two smooth stainless steel sheets; photo etched on the front with detailed Pirahna markings, and sandwiched together with sleek black neoprene rubber. The Piranha’s high-sheen, raised carbon fibre centre immediately grabs attention as a guaranteed talking point for your desk!
Get your hands on this brand new piece of Alastair’s marine life/carbon art range – a great gift for fans of carbon fibre art and Formula One.
